The range of leisure time and sport activities around the lake of Hallstatt is immense - from the sites of the World Heritage village of Hallstatt to the many water sport opportunities on the lakes of the Salzkammergut region.
The region is mostly famous for its hiking trails - here, hiking fans find all degrees of difficulty - up to difficult high alpine tours. On guided tours you can get to the most beautiful spots, and the cosy mountain huts invite you to enjoy a savoury snack.
Furthermore, you can also do paragliding, moutainbiking, riding, and even diving and fishing at the lake of Hallstatt.
A not so sunny day is the ideal day to visit the world famous Dachstein caves or Hallstatt's salt mine, which is a very special experience for children as well.
The best way to reach the region around Hallstatt and Obertraun is by boat. This is the most comfortable way, since the shipping pier with the excursion ship is directly next to the hotel.
